ENCODE, the Encyclopaedia of DNA Elements, is a project funded by the National Human Genome Research Institute and focuses on identifying all regions of transcription, transcription factor association, chromatin structure and histone modification in the human genome sequence. The main findings of ENCODE are now presented in 30 papers published simultaneously in Nature, Genome Research and Genome Biology.
